  • Mask wearing is required for everyone in the building.
  • In order to maintain social distancing, all participants must be pre-registered for classes, no walk-ins. Registration information is posted on this page with each class listing.

Brown Bag Lecture Series – September & October

Bring your lunch and join Shepherd’s Center friends for an informal brown bag gathering from 11:15 to noon prior to each lecture. All lectures are free, donations to the Shepherd’s Center always welcome.

With a sketchbook, pen or pencil and other media of choice, practice drawing everyday objects in different styles. Group will focus on developing skills and style rather than creating frameable work. Participants will have the option of sharing their work weekly and will be encouraged to continue creating at home.

Rivers & Tides: Andy Goldsworthy Working with Time

Filmmaker: Thomas Riedelsheimer

This astonishing documentary from Thomas Riedelsheimer shadows renowned sculptor Andy Goldsworthy as he creates works of art with ice, driftwood, leaves, stone, dirt and snow in open fields, beaches, rivers, creeks and forests.

We so enjoyed our July film screening of Goldsworthy’s Leaning into the Wind that, by popular demand, we will be screening his first, 2002, documentary – Rivers & Tides.

Just got a new smartphone and you can’t figure out how to use it? Or, you got a tablet as a gift and you don’t know what it can do? You need a Tech Tutor! Shepherd’s Center resident techies are available by appointment to give you one-on-one assistance with your technology issues. Bring your phone or tablet with you. Five minute intervals of cardio, isolation exercises, stretching and balance done to music. With or without weights, standing or seated – suited to all exercise abilities. Coffee Talk on Zoom

Join us for a virtual coffee hour using Zoom or connecting by phone. Do you miss seeing your Shepherd’s Center friends? We may not be able to gather in person but we can certainly still connect with a little technology. This informal discussion group meets every Tuesday at 10:30 CT. BYOC (bring your own coffee) and join us for casual chats.
